After the leaves are cured, they're stacked into large piles called pilones. Moisture and natural biological activity inside the pile generate heat, with temperatures often climbing above 120°F.

Workers constantly monitor the temperature. When a pilón gets too warm, they take the entire pile apart and rebuild it, moving leaves from the inside toward the outside so the tobacco ferments evenly.

This controlled process helps remove harsh characteristics while developing the richer aromas, smoother flavors, and deeper colors associated with premium cigar tobacco.

And depending on the tobacco, this process can be repeated multiple times before the leaves are finally ready to age.

The Emilio Suave Limited Edition Sumatra Toro is a 6 x 50 premium cigar handcrafted at Fábrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua by master blender James Brown. This limited release features a Sumatra wrapper over an Ecuadorian Habano binder and Nicaraguan fillers, delivering medium strength with a profile that balances spice and complexity alongside the subtle sweetness the Suave line is known for.
Production is exceptionally limited, with only 5,000 Toro cigars produced for this 2026 release. Each box contains 20 cigars.

Why this product?
The Suave Sumatra Toro builds on the approachable character of the original Emilio Suave line while introducing a new layer of depth through its Sumatra wrapper. That wrapper brings additional spice and complexity to the blend without overwhelming the richness and structure provided by the Nicaraguan tobaccos underneath.
